Kerisik or Toasted Coconut Paste is used by Malaysian, Indonesian and Singaporean for cooking mostly rendang beef or chicken. Coconut is grated, toasted, then ground to a paste. It is sometimes referred to as coconut butter. It is used in dishes such as rendang (a traditional local dish), kerabu, salads and etc.
